Economic Affairs St. Maarten informs notaries of digital filing

PHILIPSBURG – The Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transportation and Telecommunication (TETT) has held a meeting with the three notary offices regarding the implementation of the new digital filing of business licences.  The notaries and their office personnel were given a presentation on the proposed online registration of business licences. In the session, participants responded to the new planned system.  The benefits of the online registration are multiple, from a faster and more efficient application to more transparency and accountability. The Ministry has had meetings with other stakeholders such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Immigration Department IND, the Tax Department, etc., to give the presentation and have discussions to improve the registration process.  All the entities mentioned will have access to the system and are intended to work with the system to speed up the processing and issuing of business licences.
